Distributing women-friendly agricultural tools like mini-tillers and potato ridge makers to women farmer groups
The GRAPE project in collaboration with the local government led an initiative of distributing women-friendly agricultural tools like mini-tillers and potato ridge makers to women farmer groups in Budhinanda Municipality, Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality, and Himali Rural Municipality in Bajura.
This initiative involved the active presence of Ex-Provincial Assembly Members, Mayors/Chairpersons, Acting Chief Executive Officers, Agriculture Section Chiefs, Municipal Agriculture Coordinators, and Ward Representatives. These women farmers also received a 2-day training on installation, repair, and maintenance of these tools which will support them in having a general know how on how to operate and deal with day-to-day maintenance of the machineries. The machines are expected support women in reducing physical strain (women's drudgery) and enhance productivity thereby fostering climate-resilient farming practices.
