Celebrating Success: The GRAPE Project Closing Event

After three years, the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation (MoLCPA) marked the successful conclusion of our project on November 29, 2024. This milestone event celebrated the remarkable journey towards climate resilience across 19 municipalities in Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Chaired by Mr. Arjun Prasad Koirala, Secretary of MoLCPA, the event brought together an esteemed gathering of stakeholders from the public, private, cooperative sectors as well as civil society organisations including GRAPE Partners. Distinguished guests included:
  • Her Excellency Ms. Veronique Lorenzo, EU Ambassador to Nepal
  • Her Excellency Ms. Reinna Rikka Hikka, Ambassador of Finland to Nepal
  • Mr. Benjamin Seidel, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Development Cooperation, German Embassy
Throughout its implementation, the project empowered 16,810 smallholder farmers (72% women and 51.4% from disadvantaged group) with Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) practices, with an average increase of 53.4% in their income. These achievements represent significant strides toward sustainable development in Nepal’s rural regions.
As we celebrate this success, we eagerly anticipate the next chapter : GRAPE II – Green Resilient Agricultural-Centered Private Sector-Led Economic Development.
A heartfelt thanks to #TeamEurope – the EU, Finland, and Germany – for their shared vision and unwavering support in fostering sustainable and inclusive growth. Together, we continue building resilience and prosperity for the communities we serve.
