Call for Applications - Summer School for Agri-Intermediaries 3-7 June 2024

The Field of Action 4- Scaling up, of the GRAPE project focuses on sharing of knowledge and transferring proven CRA practices and approaches practiced via the project to relevant stakeholders beyond the project location. The objective of the Summer School is to transfer knowledge and skills on proven Climate Resilient Agriculture practices and approaches to agri-intermediaries, mainly NGOs working in the agriculture sector.

Five-day Mini-Participatory Appraisal of Competitive Advantage (PACA) conducted in Himali Rural Municipality, Bajura

50 diverse participants, including government members, private sector representatives, farmers, and community leaders, were engaged in the process, where 19 interviews were conducted with local lead farmers, ranging from goat/sheep herders to traders, elected representatives, and community-based organizations. Similarly, three workshops were conducted for the identified sub-sectors: potato, medicinal plants, and goat/sheep.

Agri-equipment distribution in close coordination with municipalities

This International Women’s Day highlights the need for investment in women in order to accelerate progress. Recognizing that women bear the majority of agricultural responsibilities in Nepal, recently, in close coordination with local municipal-level authorities (Palikas), the GRAPE programme facilitated the distribution of 64 mini tillers, 34 of them equipped with potato ridge makers, to women farmers' groups and cooperatives across Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. These agri- equipment specifically focuses to ease tasks for women, minimizing labor-intensive practices, reducing drudgery, enhancing efficiency and boosting overall productivity in the agricultural sector.
